As for the base plate, this generally not treated although there is one boat yard that does provide this service but your boat needs to be craned for that to be done. I believe the perceived wisdom re the base plate is that blacking would be scrapped off anyway so why bother? Yarwood's baseplate (15mm) had barely any rust on it after 16 months
in the water.
Good to hear from you again
LesleyNb Yarwoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14806115768980012184noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5490581806872830289.post-88966975588052346312013-04-30T18:10:47.715+01:002013-04-30T18:10:47.715+01:00Someone was stealing his boat!

Or is it aesthetic?

Do you black the actual bottom of the boat too (I can't see how that could be done while on the dolly).

If the purpose is anti-corrosion, how is the bottom protected?

Thanks,

bob
s/v Eolian
SeattleRobert Salnickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17236481906016930762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5490581806872830289.post-51934107268203483342013-04-30T09:33:32.429+01:002013-04-30T09:33:32.429+01:00Floyd seems to be taking his supervision task very...Floyd seems to be taking his supervision task very seriously, judging by the look on his face!
Abby :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
