L-R Steve and Ian
We arrived at Lambon Boats yesterday afternoon to find Steve and Ian tacking the last rubbing strake to the bow.
Applying a bit of leverage and brute force
10' tug deck now in place
The hatch way cut in the deck to allow access to the hold
The bow shaping up
Guard irons, not rubbing strakes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the correction Anonymous. It is probably a frequent error as I'm not alone in getting the terminology wrong.

Guard 'irons' were applied to wooden boats - 'STEEL' rubbing strakes are the norm for the the modern build boats.

I hate to differ sir, I think you will find that they are called metally pointy bits on the front.
