Denford Dawdles

We arrived at Denford on Sunday afternoon and moored up on common land immediately above the lock.   Since arriving Jill and I and Mutts have taken advantage of the many footpaths hereabouts and enjoyed a series of circular walks that have taken us to surrounding villages in the shallow Nene valley.   We have walked under big skies to Woodford, Ringstead and Thrapston and loved the beautiful countryside with numerous sightings of red tailed kites, swans on their newly laid eggs and a kingfisher.

 MR and Yarwood breasted up

Poplars lining the bank of the river at Ringstead

Acres and acres of oilseed rape flourishing on the valley sides

Canine fun time - the mud bath...

Baxter looks on disdainfully as the other three frolic

Down to the hollow where we will wallow...

Another one of those big skies..

  1. Lou is so jealous - she'd love that big muddy puddle!

The others don't do water so they'd be 'on shore' with Baxter!
