Nb. Grace of Napton Narrowboat Fleet.
Having tried to urge this boat to reduce speed as it approached me I got the camera out of my pocket and aimed...speed reduced but as soon as the fool at the helm passed me on went the gas again. I have sent the photo to Napton Narrowboats.
Good grief, those waves! Not much grace on display there.
ReplyDeleteI think I referred to the steerer as a 'twat' in my email to Napton Narrowboats. We will see what their response is.

Idiots! Well done for getting the photo, be interesting to hear what Napton Hire Boats have to say...
ReplyDeleteIf I get a response I will publish.

That is shocking I have never seen a boat moving so much water. With your permission I would like to contact the hire company and CaRT. Can you imaging the damage to nesting waterfowl let along the bank and the engine must have been screaming ?

DeleteI have sent an email with attached photo to The hire company but if you want to endorse that please feel free to do so.

And I bet that for all that wash they were making little or no extra speed....
ReplyDeleteCorrect. However the boat was also approaching a bend at this point and it was too fast to avoid oncoming boats if there had been one.
DeleteA crew that was trying to cover too much in the hire period and racing to do so.

And at the next bridge hole when a boat in the opposite direction has his bow in it?
ReplyDeleteTHAT picture is an absolute disgrace.. The crew are not even looking forward!
Me too gonna complain because for sure I would not like to be that boat in the bridge hole above!
Three or four complaints are always going to be more effective than the one so please feel free to bend their ears Sue.
