Leicester to Pillings Lock Marina and a visit to the Vet

We are on a mission.  We have to meet with our fellow boaters, the four crews that are crossing The Wash together and we have to get Floyd back to the Vet in Market Harborough for a post-op check-up.  We leave Leicester 8.10am, destination Pillings Lock Marina where we have arranged an overnight mooring and a car.  I keep the dogs on the boat as were head out of Leicester and through the first lock at Frog Island, here the bicycle traffic and proximity to a major road make looking out for the safety of the dogs and operating a lock incompatible.  The boys join me on the towpath after Frog Island and we walk, work the next locks to Birstal.

While Sheila and I prepare the lock at Birstal  Joe gets into conversation with a couple of Police Officers...on foot!

We settled Yarwood into a berth at Pillings Lock Marina having filled with diesel, sadly only available at a 60:40 split, and set off with the dogs to Market Harborough to see the Vet.  This was seven days after Floyd's dental operation and they were happy with his progress, gums still somewhat 'pink' but healing nicely.  We hit the Co-Op after the Vet appointment and then drove back to Pillings through Leicester happy the the  'Little Man' was Ok.
