Shake down!!

This morning, well late morning, we slipped out of our mooring here at Alvechurch and swung a right towards Tardebigge.  We cruised for an hour, thru some light ice in places, through two tunnels - testing the tunnel lamp/nav lamps - running at 800rph most of the way and winded at the top of the closed Tardebigge flight of locks.
We moored up on the services and emptied cassettes etc., had a cuppa, wrote a note and pinned it on the services gateway congratulating the lazy dog owner who fails to clear up after his/her dog.  The place is smothered in dog shite and I bet I wouldn't lose any money if I were to bet that the dog lived on the boat that is always moored adjacent to the water point..but perhaps I am being unfair ??
I  feel another little old complaint to BW coming on....
Anyway, back to Yarwood.

 Servicing

I walked back so I could exercise the dogs and get some photo's of Yarwood

  2. Thanks Paul. The boys are happy as long as they are with us. They are getting used to the different access/egress arrangements but food, beds, walks, food, more food, more walks oh, and more food seems to satisfy their needs quite well. Not too different to us really apart from our liking for beer, wine, more beer and more wine...

  3. We have got a berth sorted for Caxton down at the Kingfisher Marina Yardley Gobian, only 15mins drive from MK. They will charge me on a month by month basis which will work out well, Russ is also very happy with his weekender!

  11. Hi Paul
Great news about a berth for Caxton. We might see Russell en route as we cannot get out of Brum going south until 10th March because of stoppages and we will going the same road.

  12. Hi Jo
I hope we do meet up again soon, that would be good. We are delighted with how Yarwood has turned out, Steve Lambon of Lambon Boats did a great job in interpreting what we wanted her to look like.

  13. Hello the Chancers
We were optimist about Yarwood's lines but now she is in the water we are delighted - well I am, Joe doesn't do 'enthusiasm' much!

  14. Hi Meteor
Canal Boat magazine is going to do an article on Yarwood - they are coming out mid Feb provided we are free of ice. As for youtube and video's that might be testing my techi 'skills' a bit too far...

  15. Hi Amanda
Yarwood does look good in the ditch, Lambon did a good job in interpreting our requirements - all credit to the hull builders and Stuart Harper who project managed all the stages.
Our move has been rather short lived though as we are iced in tight now...
