Grumpy Old Woman
Anyway today dawned, the sun came out, then went in again.
We moved Yarwood up closer to Isis Lock, threading our way past the moored boats by Oxford Cruisers and once tied up again I walked along to Oxford Rail Station to meet two very special guests for a cruise along the Thames. Andy and Sarah (aka Greygirl) were joining us for a cruise to Abingdon and back; though in fact 'the back' bit didn't happen because of weather, time, extended lunching and general malaise.
They got the bus back to Oxford abandoning us and Yarwood in Abingdon.
Andy and Sarah at the helm
We tied Sarah to the tiller and left her there for the whole trip, our captive steerer for the day
Approaching Sandford lock
Waiting our turn to go into Abingdon lock and a chance to let the dogs off of the boat
It always happens, you point a camera at Joe and he becomes a naughty school boy again...
He is meant to be securing the front line
I left them to the locking and walked the dogs along the meadow below the lock looking for a suitable mooring which soon presented itself.
Yarwood, snug as a bug on the Thames
Love Abingdon, watch out for the bun throwing from the town hall! Oh, you should be ok now Jubilee events all over.ReplyDelete
I am looking forward to exploring the town and surroundings especially as we intend to stay for the weekend.
Arriving home just about now! A fab day - so nice to try out the tug member of my expanding fleet! Thank you again - a great privilege to crash, oops, I mean steer such a handsome craft down the river and, even better, have people think she was mine. I didn't rush to correct them....ReplyDelete
As ever we love to see you both and we are truly impressed by the epic lengths you will go to to secure yet another boat to your ever growing fleet...eight hours of travelling wow!Delete
It was a treat to see you handle Yarwood and Joe enjoyed his day off duty.
See you soon
Time that pair of reprobates bought a boat of their own. Ummm ..duh! xxReplyDelete
They don't have to Jill, they just arrive like pirates and take off with any boat they fancy..Delete
Why do you think I write my blog retrospectively!Delete
Because you are wise beyond your years of course!Delete
Having sampled the delights of Yarwood though I can a scenario when she and Andy just cruise with you and send the hounds to cruise with us!ReplyDelete
Sue, nb Indigo Dream
Are Sue they are probably planning amendments to Yarwood's layout to accommodate the hounds...Delete
didn't Andy show you the plans on his iPad?ReplyDelete
Only Sarah came with IPad, laptop, smart phones, back-up modems...I think. Andy was more focused on the beer clever chap.
