Three locks in a river

We left our weekend mooring at Great Barford and started our journey back down the Great Ouse towards a date with a mooring.   We said our farewells to Graham and Jill who will be continuing their journey into Bedford over the next week.   Joe and I are going off in our caravan on our annual  holiday with friends Val and Alan.   Last year we went to Suffolk and this year we are heading north, well north as far as Norfolk.  Today we were just going to cover the stretch back to St. Neots and we did it in wonderful sunshine, perfect cruising weather.

 Exiting Great Barford Lock
Yarwood on the lock landing at Roxton
We were following another narrowboat downstream and we caught him up just as he was exiting our second lock of the day, Roxton Lock.  I reset the lock and prepared it for our transit and Joe put the kettle on.
Tea made, we got Yarwood into Roxton lock
 Heading under the A1

At our final lock, Eaton Socon, we caught up with the narrowboat we had been trailing and shared the lock before going our separate ways.

Five Kingfishers spotted today!

Moored up in St. Neots opposite the Council offices at the Priory Centre
