Socialising

We stayed Thursday moored up at Bridge 86 close to Ramsdell Hall.  The Met Office had forecast a day of heavy rain and we don’t travel in that stuff thank you very much, well not unless we really have to.  The Met Office got it half right, we did have heavy rain but not ALL day as forecast but a day of snoozing and reading  was very welcome.    Come the evening however we went out socialising with Paul and Jean of Nb. Enchantress who we had met in 2011 when we went up the Shropshire Union canal to Chester and Ellesmere Port museum.

We had booked a table in the Rising Sun where the dogs were also made welcome.  Floyd and Fletcher did rather well finishing the evening with Joe and I carrying the remains of steaks and pork dinners – other diners contributions via the kitchen – wrapped in foil parcels for them to demolish when we got back to Yarwood.

Paul and Jean have just sold their lovely Dave Thomas (the boatbuilder)  boat after living aboard for twelve years.  Nb Enchantress will be going of to Venetian Marina soon so if a Dave Thomas hull appeals…you know where to go.
We had a lovely evening catching up with each other and Jean has half persuaded me to join Facebook…only half decided so far, I am mulling..
