Barrow-upon-Soar to Loughborough

Lazy start this morning with only a few miles to go  we didn't move until gone ten.  Lisa, Verity and I walked down to Barrow lock and helped a couple of boats through before Yarwood and What a Lark got their turn.
What a Lark leads off this morning and 'hovers' while we lock down one boat and lock up a trip boat full of disabled and elderly people who were thoroughly enjoying their jaunt along the river to a date with a pub lunch... and who wouldn't?

Verity relaxing on the lock beam but Floyd was not going to let her get away with ignoring him!

What at Lark shooting the bridge at Barrow

Yarwood heading off towards Pillings lock

Moored at Loughborough

We moored up close to the rail station so that Verity could get her train back to Brighton and then we moved along a bit to a better mooring where we plan to stay for a couple of nights before venturing off towards Sawley and Cranfleet and the parting of our ways, What a Lark towards the T&M canal and Yarwood towards Nottingham.

  1. Could you ask Lisa to check her emails please. We would love to meet up with them early next week as they are heading our way.

    Many thanks
