Next Stop, Hopwas

Funny old day today, weather wise at least.  One minute we are basking in glorious warm sunshine  and the next the cloud cover dominates and we are lashed by rain...then sunshine.  April Showers half way through March.
We pulled pins just before eight and set off on a ten mile journey, the dogs and myself walking of course, that aimed to get us to Hopwas where we had an appointment with Glen of Elite Furnishings.

 Away we go

 Yarwood going through Alvecote

Nb. Dane up on trestles and still being worked on.  Nb. Dane is a wooden working narrowboat under-going extensive refurbishment at Alvecote.  She was having a new stem post fitted when we came through in October last year and work obviously continues.
 New timbers for Nb. Dane

Glascote Basin,  home of Steve Hudson boats

 Aqueduct over the River Tame

 The River Tame

The much photographed new artwork at Fazeley Junction.

 Fazeley Junction, the 'road'to Birmingham
Development of buildings adjacent to Fazeley Junction at last making progress

Passing through Fazeley we pressed on towards Hopwas and at Sutton Road Bridge close to the Cardinal Industrial estate we came across Bruce and Sheila on Nb. Sanity Again . They were just mooring up for the day after travelling from Whittington.

Arriving at Hopwas we moored on the 48hr visitor moorings  close to the Tame Otter pub

And in the afternoon we were visited by Glen of Elite Furnishings...changes afoot post amendments to Yarwood in July.
